About this designer / maker

Biography

Steve and Glynis Rider are a husband and wife team who have been collaborating to produce fine jewellery since they first met in 1977, later forming the democratically named Rider and Rider in 1987.

Glynis`s style is romantic and organic which stems from her love of plants and the natural world. Steve is more formal, reflecting his background in fine jewellery.

They produce pieces on a special commission basis and have a core collection of handmade chain necklets, bracelets and fine jewellery, mainly in platinum, 18ct. gold and palladium. Their designs are brought to life using a variety of methods, many are traditional skills whilst new techniques are constantly being researched and added to the mix.

The commissioning process gives them an opportunity to work closely with their client, the challenge as ever, to interpret the commission in a way which will delight the wearer.

Whether the piece is of Rider and Rider’s own imagination or realising someone else’s dream, it is the work which continually renews their enthusiasm and brings these craftsmen true satisfaction.
