The Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme
The Goldsmiths’ Company has been supporting apprenticeships since the 14th century. Today, we are proud to continue this support through The Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme.
Managed by The Goldsmiths’ Centre and funded by The Goldsmiths’ Company Charity, the Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme helps people to enter life-long careers in the precious metal industry employed by master craftspeople who are members of The Goldsmiths’ Company. It also provides access to specialist facilities at the Goldsmiths’ Centre for day release training and development.
Since 2012 more than 60 apprentices have completed their Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeships, specialising in diamond mounting, smallwork, silversmithing, polishing, chasing, enamelling, fine jewellery design, lapidary, spinning, engraving, setting, burnishing and CAD/CAM Design. They join a history of training and development that spans seven centuries, and form part of an ever-growing network of talented craftspeople who are generous with their time, skills and knowledge.
Organisations with a Goldsmiths’ Company Freeman or Liveryman employed in their business are encouraged to learn more about the Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship scheme on The Goldsmiths’ Centre’s website.
