The Goldsmiths’ Centre
The Goldsmiths’ Centre is the UK’s leading education charity for jewellers, silversmiths and people working in the precious metal industry, dedicated to improving skills and building careers.
Located close to London’s jewellery quarter, Hatton Garden, The Goldsmiths’ Centre is a community hub where young people, start-ups and well-established businesses can learn, grow and collaborate. Around 130 craftspeople call The Goldsmiths’ Centre their home and create their best work from its affordable workshop and coworking spaces or meet others and grow their businesses in its café, Bench.
Founded by the Goldsmiths’ Company in 2007, the Goldsmiths’ Centre is the modern representation of the Company’s 700-year connection to the craft, trade and industry. Its technical and business skills training programmes, events and exhibitions sit alongside grant-giving initiatives, helping to build a highly skilled workforce across the UK.
Over the last decade, the Goldsmiths’ Centre has supported more than 150 young people through its Foundation Programme and the Goldsmiths’ Company Apprenticeship Scheme to star careers in the industry. Through initiatives such as Getting Started Online, and Shine, it has given new jewellery and silversmithing talent the skills to confidently present, promote and sell their work.
